I've quite recently changed jobs and I've already found myself getting a promotion. I must say it feels good that the boss only has to see me in action for a couple of weeks to know I'm the person she's looking for. Ah, life's good when you're great. ;)

So now everyone's left and it's all quiet and lovely. I mean, it's fun and all to have people over, but oh so exhausting. As usual I got too much birthday cake so now we're left with almost a whole cake (and that is after I've send some home to those willing to take it).
As you can see I got myself a brand new userpic, I like it because I look like a ghost in it. :D
It was taken this summer on the dancefloor of a cruise I went on with a couple of friends.

So tomorrow Leah is going to celebrate her eighth birthday. Yes, that's right, she's going to be 8. I'm starting to feel a tad repetitive but where did the time go? Up until the age of like 20, every year felt like forever and now I realise I start to think about what I'm going to do for Christmas on January the 1st...I think this is what it's like to be old.

9:50 pm - Midsummer..

So yesterday was midsummer's eve. I had a quite uneventful one, some herring, some strawberries, some dancing around the maypole, some singing and some laughs.
We even tried to pick seven different kinds of flowers*, but we could only find 5 kinds and 2 sorts of grass. Then when we went to go home we forgot the flowers. *L* All in all, not too bad of a day.
Today my brother and his family came by eat and drink some, we had a nice time, but boy, 2 year olds really are a handful!!
*It's a tradition we have here in Sweden that on midsummer's eve, you pick 7 different kinds of flowers, then put them under your pillow when you go to bed and you're supposed to dream of the man you'll end up marrying. Some say you have to be quiet the whole time, but I never quite managed that.

10:32 am - home again

I went to visit my father this weekend and it was fun seeing them all again. My sister kajsa (who lives in London now) was there but I didn't get to see her because she was out with friends and left at 3am saturday to go back to London. It seems I wasn't a priority. :P
We had a nice time anyway though, but for some reason it's always good to come back home, to sleep in your own bed. Today Leah is going to that place where she is going to live every 4th week, and I'm SO nervous. I'm sure she'll be okay though, she loved it last time she was there for a few nights.
I did a little bit of shopping in Örebro, mostly clothes for Leah, but it's always good to have a new set of shops to browse!

When I was at the Antony and the Johnsons concert last week, I decided to (at the very last out of three encores) film it with my phone. Unfortunately my phone is crap but I uploaded it to youtube anyway. There's also some very flattering shots of my sister and my friend Hanna in it.

5:54 pm - London update
|
So now I'm back home in dreary old Sweden and back to the boring routine of working. Oh, well. I had a great time in London (duh). When I arrived in London I went to meet my sister out in Chiswick, because she was at some friends house and didn't have enough money to get back to her flat. *L* We walked around for a bit and had some curry. It was so much fun seeing her again, she seemed so grown up!
Thursday was full of shopping, again meeting up with Kajsa (sister). Maya (other sister) arrived at midnight so I went to meet her since she was scared of getting lost.
Friday I did some more shopping and then Kajsa told us we were going to some club named Koko. We went to Camden to find this club and stayed until like 5.30 am...I was dead tired. I told myself never again, too loud music, too many people.
Saturday I slept for a long time and then I met up with Jeremy, we mostly walked around but seeing as I was beat after a rough friday night, I left pretty early to go sleep again. But we did go by Kensington palace (just for you Chrissy!! *L*)
Sunday we went to a walkabout bar, it was nasty. The whole place smelled of sweat and it was crammed. So me and Maya escaped from there and went to another pub and got stuck playing one of those quiz-machines thingies...We met up with Kajsa and her friends after they closed and, even though I told myself never to go to a club again, we went down to Soho and hit some gayclub called ghetto. It was good fun even though they insisted on just playing house-music...
Monday and tuesday was packed with even more shopping and some long nice walks since the weather was great.
I had a great time and came home with 10 new handbags and 12 new pair of shoes. yay! :D

So now I'm sat here at the airport waiting for my flight that has been delayed by 40 minutes so far...Hopefully it won't be much more. I just spoke to kajsa who is so happy to see me tonight, but that might just be because she's down to her last £ before she gets paid on friday. *L*
Well, I'm hoping everything goes well and the flight isn't further delayed.

So today I got to drive on a proper street (well, almost) for like 5 minutes, I was so excited and got well scared when another car came down the road. I turned to my instructor and said "oh no, another car!" which only caused him to laugha bit and say..."yes, sometimes that'll happen".
But it's good fun and about bloody time I get this driving business down.

8:57 am - sickly sick

It's been two weeks now and I can't seem to shake this flue. Very annoying. Leah and Moses have now picked it up as well, so in my place there's a whole lot of coughing going on.
I know I haven't updated in forever, but I just forgot about lj for a while.

I've decided to get my driver's license this year. Well, try to at least, so far I'm not doing too great. My driving instructor seems to laugh a lot at me and I almost drove into a parked BMW today. oh, well, can't get any worse!

Today I bought a brand new mobile phone, wooohoo! I was going to get a nokia but fell in love with a white Sony Ericsson W850i. A one gigabyte memory card was included and everything. yaaaay!
